Assuming you're going for the factions victory objectives I would say a typical ME campaign might last you about 300 turns. But it can vary a lot since each faction has different objectives, mostly to take all of their surrounding area and eliminating a few key opponents.
You can find the win conditions under one of the smaller buttons next to the end turn button.
The win condition typically consists of holding certain regions relevant to your faction and making sure that Archaon the everchosen is dead, with the long campaign victory requiring more than the short one.
On the bottom right hand of the screen. There is a green button which lets you view the victory conditions to win the campaign.
I'm on turn 80ish with Ikit Claw and thanks to the hard starting position things are just starting to get interesting.

They got buffed in the latest dlc. They do seem a lot better now but theres a LOT of map to dominate so I wouldn't worry to much about them.

Skarsnik is UP, IMO. Grimgor used to be OP now he's borderline UP. But ya I get what you are saying when everyone is complaining about every different faction being OP that's a good sign that things aren't nearly as imbalanced as they think. Now if everyone was ONLY complaining about one or two factions being OP then it would be different.
